Hi there! I received a question from our client: they are receiving notifications about Verge’s WordPress plugin update and asking if they should make an update.

Our main question here is if it won’t break the configurator that we uploaded to their website last year? Are the WP plugin updates safe for the applications that were previously uploaded to the website?

    Hi Mariusz,

As I remember, there were some custom source code modifications made in the plugin. If so, updating is not recommended.

Thank you Alexander for a quick reply. Do you mean exactly our project case? Or the plugin in general?

What if, in the future, we would like to create a new configurator for the same client? The new configurator should work independently from the old one – but the old one should still function anyway. And let’s say that we create the new configurator in the newest Verge software that probably requires the newest plugin as well. What should we do in such a situation?

I mean on your side. I remember you did something with the email form… or maybe this was some older project.

If there were no modifications, you are safe to go, because we did not introduce any changes braking compatibility since then.
