This may be a problem with my computer, but when trying to demo the solution to my clients over zoom, I have to unplug any external monitors, shrink the browser window, turn off the video portion of Zoom, and quit all other programs to make it work, or it just crashes the whole system.

I’m using an 24″ M1 iMac running macOS 26.0.1 with 16GB of ram

Admittedly, the app is fairly heavy (the memory usage for the browser tab was 1.8gb, mostly because of dozens of textures), but has anyone else had a similar problem? Being able to do the demo is fairly important.

I personally have not had any issues with screen sharing an app on Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, etc. but it could be that you are just running the browser out of memory…maybe?

Have you tried lighter apps to see if you have the same problem?

For what it’s worth, Microsoft Teams video call worked okay, but a little stuttery. Google Meet worked fine without a hitch, even with my second monitor attached. I noticed problems with Zoom even before I shared the screen – it was on one of my tabs in the background.

Have you tried changing the browsers?
    I think that might help.
I never had such issue in the past though.

just to give a clue –
also see if you are opening zoom meeting it in an application OR running through the browser.
G-meet always runs from browser itself so less headache expected.
try running the zoom meeting through browser if that’s possible.
