    Hi all,

I am struggling to get a a glass texture working within verge. I have created the texture using an Arnold standard surface with the glass present but when I open it in verge it just comes up grey.

I also cant seem to get the lights working in verge. I have 2 Arnold area lights with volumetric atmosphere to create god rays which just don’t seem to be working within the app at all

any help would be greatly appreciated

    1. God rays and other special effects like volumetrics not supported, just a simple lighting from an area light.
    2. Glass material will work as solid glass until you set a checkbox Thin Walled in Geometry tab settings of the material. To get solid glass working properly you also need to have an Skydome with hdr environment texture in it.

Hi thank you for your response

even my area lights don’t show up within verge and I cant seem to find why.

I also just tried the thin wall checkbox which did make the glass see through but I don’t have any reflections or refraction. I do have a HDRI within the scene

Reflection will be only from lights or environment if it exist, to enable refraction you need to use SSR or Simple Refraction puzzle with that material. Light work different, because it’s not a raytrasing you cant see any light bouncing and your area lights not pointed on the objects so the light something out of the scene. Or you can use lighprobes. Look at this tutorial.
