"atlas" texture animating like the sparks on the Industrial Robot Demo

so i decided to try to do the “atlas” technique for animating a texture for the overlay in front of the camera just like you guys did for the sparks in the Industrial Robot demo.

I used the AnimAll add-on to animate the UV points (had to use blender 2.79 because it’s not supported in 2.8) and appended from that 2.79 file into my 2.8 project.

i have used your guys “welding-sparks” atlas image as a test piece to get it to work.
i tried “playing” the animation of the image plane, not getting it to play in verge3d
any ideas?
