This afternoon i’ll have a new challenge : render an HDRi in the 5 ambiances to get nice reflections / lights, and fix some cameras…

HDRI light studio a nice software to easely create any HDRI to light your scene exactly as you want.

Yes i have a license for this nice tool, just it’s a bit tricky to create, put in max, export, show in Verge3D… i’ll do anyway.

For now i’m rendering HDRi directly in 3dsmax, using Corona-Renderer’s 360 camera, in exr32.
So my billards tables will have the exact reflects needed.

    Hello there,

How can i put a picture in the background ?
like the “screen” mode in 3dsmax ?

I hope i can within the verge3D app, or maybe i will have to set the background to transparent and do it in html (not my favourite solution).

Also, i wonder if it would be possible to separate lighting and reflection HDR envir, because some are good for light, and others are good for reflections.

    Ok, i’m stuck here :

    1 – i would like to put a still picture in the background, as a “screen” projection mode in 3dsmax ;

2 – I have 2 cameras : one “free” to rotate, corresponding to a “studio” environment, and a other one “fixed” to a certain position / rotation to fit the picture background to be placed.
    > i can switch between cameras and envir maps, but when i go from the free cam to the fixed one, the position / rotation is not ok, it keeps the actual free cam infos instead of going to the fixed camera infos.
    > So i’ve though to animate from current camera position to fixed camera position, (see screenshot), but it does not work.

Any help for those 2 things would be nice.

Here is my current state for application :

You can parent a plane with a texture to the exact camera and show and hide them.

Can’t figure out the problem, can you isolate it and attach a max file.

    – No way to get a background without the need to parent a plane to a camera ? This will be strange with responsive website, we may see outside of the plane, don’t we ?

    – About the other thing :
    > maybe you could explain me how to animate a camera to reach the view of another one ? To go from an active camera to set another active camera without cut, but smoothly ?

Here is a light max file : you can see 2 cameras, one free, and one that is fixed (see Verge3D min/max angles)
I’d like to go from the free to the fixed with an html button switch.
Even as a cut : go from anywhere we are with free cam to thet fixed cam.
Or better smoothly with free camera animation to reach the fixed position, then switch.

Sorry if double post : i got an error while posting.

Ok, changing cameras makes it very erratic (see attached video)

For now i’m changing environment, background plane and camera.
As you can see it works sometimes but often make strange things.

So my first idea would be better : using one back plane, one camera, and switching texture on the plane and moving camera to some position.

Can you help me doing that : moving camera to some position, and ask for it to be fixed, not movable (or then switching on other camera ?) ?

And attached is my puzzle for camera switching.

I’ve removed the “click on floor to printf the fps in cosole” puzzle, and no more strange behavious.
I should learn to print perf to console with a keyboard “F” key.

So now i just need to smoothly go from the free moved camera to rest fixed camera.
If someone could help me for animating camera.
And it would be best to smoothly change the background also : now i’m just hiding a plane and show another one.

Here’s and example with tween between two cameras, one is movable another is static.

Can you just explain a bit the use of “fake” cams ?
    I don’t get it.

    #25976

Because tween camera mooves camera to the new position you can’t return to the previous position of the camera, so first fake camera need to return camera1 to the base position, second fake camera need because you cant tween static camera, but you need to return to the first camera, so I use second camera to tween it as second camera than return it to the base position.

Damn, that’s both clever and tricky ;-)
What if i put more than 2 cameras ? will it still work ?

Final will have 1 free cam, and 5 fixed ones.

Yes, you need to make itbthe same way like forb the first camera.
