    Hi guys, hi Alexander,

I’m hitting a problem with long (gltf) export times in the current project.
Since I’m on a very tight schedule I wanted to ask if you have a suggestion on how to speed up the export process, any clue which might help.

    I am using Verge3D 4.12 with Blender 4.2 LTS / 4.5 LTS.
The scene I’m using is fairly complex, but not extreme, I had worse.
When adding animations (3 rigs with 700 to 1000 frames actions), export times increase dramatically. Animations are simple: loc, rot, scale, no drivers, constrains etc.

The scene without actions assigned to the rigs, exports in matters of seconds.
Adding the actions leads to export times of 12 minutes, seemingly increasing with a longer timeline.

    Thanks,
    Thomas

    Hi,
What is the largest frame range for your animations? Longer animations may increase export times drastically.

Current keyframes cover roughly 1000 for the main rig armature action.
But for the project that’s not even one half of the required animations.
The smaller rig actions are about 700 frames long.

How many bones in your rigs then?

39 bones for the main rig, 18 for the two smaller ones.

Appears not be that large. Can you please attach a minimal reproducible example (MRE) for that issue? You can create it by simplifying your existing scene (removing non-relevant geometry/materials etc).

I tried isolating the three rigs into a blank blender file which seems to be enough to reproduce the issue with the extended time needed to export. It took 11 minutes between exporting the textures and writing the .bin / .gltf. Same as with the original project file.
At which e-mail can I send the example file?

Unfortunately, email support is reserved to the Enterprise customers only, but you can upload the app to Dropbox or Google Drive and post here the link.

I’m afraid, I’m not even remotely allowed to post anything related to our projects, let alone on a public link.

    I see!

Is it possible that you make an example which is not connected to your project but still reproduces the issue?

It might be sometime later on, but not in the schedule we’re currently in.

For now I’ll try and explore all options which might reduce the export time.
Are there maybe options to split the animations used for a rig in smaller segments? (Hoping that having multiple smaller actions might help reduce the export time). But I noted the “assign action” puzzle won’t work for rigs.

If nothing else helps, it’s again the way back to 4.9.2. As far as I recall, I had even larger rigs with ~3000 frames which actually worked some time ago without noticeable export times.

    Thanks for your help,
    Thomas

I don’t believe it’s a regression introduced in the recent Verge3D versions, maybe it’s some very rare combination of factors that make the things slow. Can’t say more without seeing the actual scene. Please consider providing MRE when you have time so that we can help you out.
