I noticed that when I disable rendering, there is no more dithering and I get banding especially around highlights on a material.

See attached. 01 is when rendering stopped, 02 is while rendering is active. Is there a way to avoid this?

I tried the dithering settings in the material but that had no effect.

    Try to disable SSAA

Puzzles and JS. Fast and expensive.

If you don’t see the meaning in something it primarily means that you just don’t see it but not the absence of meaning at all.

    thanks that works! :good:

So AA causes this bug of banding, or is that the inevitable price to pay for AA? In other words there is no way to get best of both worlds?

Not AA in general but an additional SSAA pass. Do not use it. MSAA used by default is enough.

okay, tbh I don’t see a difference in AA quality anyways, so I’ll take your advice!

    Thanks again!
