Participant“Do I need to purchase the Enterprise Edition of Verge3D to achieve this effect? Its core functionality involves using JavaScript in HTML pages to control the display of 3D models on the web, such as modifying parameters like materials, colors, dimensions, etc.”
We’re looking for developers with experience in this field. Chinese-speaking candidates would be a bonus.

StaffHi,
You don’t need the enterprise license to use JavaScript API in your applications. Though it might be beneficial to have it, because of the technical support and access to the engine source code (both might help to resolve your issues way quicker).
If you’re looking for Chinese-speaking partners, you might also ask on our dedicated forums here. Also try our Discord channel.

ParticipantAlexander, thank you very much for your response. The Chinese forum you mentioned (https://www.soft8soft.com/cn/论坛) is no longer accessible – it shows a 404 error. Additionally, regarding the Discord channel, I haven’t used this platform before. Who should I add to get technical support?

Participant“To be more specific: Our clients provide completed Blender 3D models, while our team focuses on HTML/JS development. The critical task is implementing controllers in HTML pages to manipulate 3D model displays – for example, enabling users to select different colors, dimensions, materials, etc., achieving real-time rendering on the webpage.
My key questions are:
Can the free edition of Verge3D deliver such functionality?
What would be the estimated development workload for this implementation?
What are the essential coordination points between 3D modelers and developers during this workflow?”
thanks,waiting for your reply.

StaffThat you intend to do is the 3D web configurator, and this is the thing that Verge3D is really good at! The required efforts to create such an app would depend heavily on the amount of web content and modelling. The parts of the app that deal with Verge3D would require minimal coding. Also, to speed up development even more, we’d recommend using Puzzles instead of JavaScript, though it’s not mandatory.
Regarding licensing, the free trial version can be used for evaluation only. To start actual production you’re gonna need to acquire one of the 3 licensing options we provide.

Participantbro,thanks for your reply.
Let’s take a storage locker project as an example. Currently, we only need to develop one locker unit based on a client-provided 3D model (no disassembly animation required). The requirement is straightforward: implementing HTML-based controllers to manipulate the 3D model display (since most product showcases on their website are 2D).
After completing this project, we’ll use it as a benchmark for estimating development efforts on future product models. Specifically:
1. What would be the estimated workload for this locker project?
2. Which key factors do you recommend we consider when quantifying development efforts?Attachments:

StaffThe implementation of such the app looks quite straightforward provided the developers are already familiar with Verge3D. If not, please refer to our basic tutorial series and documentation (we have a Chinese version as well!). They cover basic skills the developer should obtain to make such 3D configurators.

ParticipantThank you again for your insights. I’d like to clarify two key points regarding this project:
Critical communication requirements between 3D modelers and developers – what specific aspects demand alignment, and will this process require significant time investment?
Availability of reference cases – ideally furniture product visualizations similar to this storage locker project (though previously mentioned as a basketball model, the core need is for cabinet/furniture examples). Any shareable demos would be greatly appreciated.
