We are just curious about the new update, why the Number of Blendshapes got reduced down to one with just 6 targets? We just finalized a project with verge with Maya with at least 10 Blendshapes in it, and it worked fine…now with the new Update of verge, we can not actually use it, since we need a decent number of working Blendshapes. Is there any chance that Verge will manage more than one in the Future?

I’d be interested in an answer to this too. I currently have a project that would benefit from 8 or or so targets.

    Hi,
there is a restriction imposed by WebGL implementations on most GPUs – the number of vertex attributes is limited to 16. We need 4 attributes for material shader itself, that leaves us 12. For each morph target, we need position and normal attributes. That’s why we can only afford 6 targets.

Good explanation thanks. Is this in the documentation for Verge3d? I think it would be prudent to add it for users to know so they can plan accordingly.
