    Hi,
I am always looking for techniques that will enable my customers to experience their Verge3D scenes faster.
I have been experimenting with linked duplicate objects in Blender. Linked objects share meshes. I have many scenes where this can be used. I have found that this technique has allowed me to reduce the size of the Verge3D bin file by half or more in some scenes.

I have not noticed any bad effects from using linked duplicate objects but, I would appreciate the Verge3D team’s perspective on this topic. Are linked duplicate objects safe to use with Verge3D or might they cause trouble?
    Thanks,
    Jem

    Hi Jem,
We support linked duplicates in Verge3D and indeed this can reduce the size of the loaded data, especially if this data is stored without XZ compression. The only thing that one needs to keep in mind is that these objects have a specific name in Puzzles, something like “Duplication_GroupHolder_Name”.
