    Hi,

I’ve been approached to make a game similar to the below link, styled like ‘SAGO MINI’.

Would anybody have any thoughts for creating something similar to this, by way of camera controls, how to control the flow of the game, and so on. Also stylistically, for it to run efficiently too.

Would be really interested to see what the Soft8Soft team think? This would be in Blender. Initially, I’ll see what inspiration I can take from Farmers Journey.

It could be done. Not saying it’s the easiest method or the most efficient for this style but you can do it. I saw a similar 2d game done using verge. I will hunt down the link and send.

One that isn’t farmers journey? That would be cool to see, thank you.

Yeah I think I will be up against perhaps with Verge, but share your optimism that it probably can be done. What is considered industry standard for this kind of thing? What may have been used?

I have ideas for triggering animations as you walk through the scene, such as:

puzzle for moving camera with velocity:
If distance between camera and thing that animates > whatever
    start the animated thing off

    Hi,
I think you could make a pretty badass 2D game with Verge.
I think all the elements and tools are there for the ready. Just need to know how to utilize them… Ie: locking camera along x or y axis, looping background elements, setting up game pad controls, using sprites etc..
