When I place a transparent object between the camera and objects on which Ambient Occlusion is active, the AO is disabled. Also, other transparent objects behind it disappear. (see attached image)

The blender material is made with a White Principled BSDF and a Transparent BSDF @60%, but I have also tried replacing the Principled with a glossy, diffuse or glass and the transparent to translucent or refraction, all to no effect.

I wonder if there is a particular way to set up transparent (or translucent) materials to prevent this?

Yes, transparent materials will cut eachother when they behid you or will be cutted by other. Try to use hashed blend type, if it won’t help then unfortunally you will need to deals with this because that how the engine works for now with sorting of transparent materials.

    Hi, Tanks for your answer.

I have found a solution for the transparency: Principled BSDF with Transmission 1, Alpha 0.6 and the rest of the settings at 0; then a Transparent BSDF and a Mix Shader (Principled on top) with a 0.14 Fac. Finally, the Blend Mode is set to “Alpha Blend”.

AO, though, as it can be seen in the attached image, remains invisible.
