    Hello!

I’m having an issue with Shape Keys distorting when viewed in Verge. They just don’t seem to be affecting the mesh in the right way or the right order?

I’ve attached the blender file for troubleshooting in case there’s any issues with the way I’ve set it up (I’m pretty new to shape keys), plus a quick screenshot of what it looks like in blender (ie what it’s supposed to look like) versus what it looks like in Verge.

Any suggestions would be massively appreciated

Well unfortunately I am not the only person wanting to have Shape keys that work differently.
    the

In your blend file you start with Key1 and keyframe the value to 1
Then you move to Key 2 and keyframe the value to 1.

Leaving two shape keys with a value of 1.

In my experience shape keys will not produce a good result in V3D if the your shape keys have more than one value set to 1 at one time.

You may want to try key framing key1 to 1…then a few frames later, set Key 2 value to 1 and set Key 1’s value to 0 and insert a keyframe for both. This way the shape key moves from one position to another cleanly.

Here is an example…with shape keys animated with only shape key having a value of 1 and the same object with shape keys where there are more than one shape key value keyed to 1.

    Hope this helps.

    Hey xeon,

Thanks so much for your response! This is definitely something I wish I’d known before I started, as I’m having to redo the shape-key animation so that it only has one shape key with a value of 1 at each keyframe – but it does work! So thank you.

I was a bit worried at the start that I’d have to entirely remodel the shape at each new keyframe, but thankfully you can select ‘New Shape Key from Mix’ which duplicates the previous geometry – just in case anyone was having the same trouble.
