Hi – I have an animated character that I made in Blender. It worked great in Blender and in Verge, but then I added the hat. It looks fine in Blender, but in Verge the mesh falls apart. I have a Subdivision modifier on it, but it happens with or without it. Any ideas?

Can you attach a blend file with the hat?

Here are the parts involved. It’s obviously the rig that’s breaking it, but the worst parts are where the bones have very little influence.

This happens because most of the vertixes has more than 4 weight per vertex, the limit is not more than 4 weights per vertex. You need to clean up your mesh this way that each vertex will have max 4 weight per vertex.

Wow – that was a hair-puller, until I found “Limit Total” in the Weights menu in Weight Paint. It got a lot worse before it got better, but then it only took about a second.
    Thanks! I got there eventually!
