    Hello,

I’m a new user, and I’ve been going through some animation solutions with Verge3D and 3dsmax 2021. I’ve come across an issue that might be my error, or it’s a missing feature from Verge3D.

I’ve been trying to make a simple Path Deform animation in 3dsmax 2021, where the “Percent” is animated, as an object is following a path. This however doesn’t work in Verge3D. Puzzles won’t even recognize the object as an object that could be animated, once the object is designated to the path. (to be clear the object of course is available in puzzles, but just cannot be involved in an animation)

Is there way to solve this currently? If not, is there a planned feature for future updates that would make this kind of animation work?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

I think the path animation should be baked to transform keyframes before exporting.

    Hey Yuri,

First of all, thank you for responding.
I’ve tried baking vertex data into a keyframe animation, and while it works nicely in max, it doesn’t work in Verge.

Can you be more specific what needs to be done, am I missing a step somewhere? Is it proven that keyframe baking works in a tutorial perhaps?

Thank you so much, I really like the software in general.

Edit: Also, I want to add that this issue might be related to another thing, which is that in Blender for example, when exporting curves to Verge, the export converts the curve into mesh. This in turn will render any object that’s following that curve in an animation, into base object mesh, that’s stretched to that curve, and then executes the animation.
For example: Conveyor belt that’s following a curve will turn into a long flat box and then proceeds to play the animation.

Vertex animation will work if you can leave morhping modifier on the object, if not, unfortunally, there’s no way to export this animation to Verge3D somehow.

Thank you for your response, keep up the good work. New versions of the Verge3D are always exciting.
