With my app the memory usage seems really high, 2,848,864K as compared to the Teapot Heater at 672,852K. Is there any reason it would be so high?

I noticed that you’re using non-power-of-two textures in your scene.

These are automatically converted in the engine to 1024, 2048, 4096 etc textures, but this requires certain processing power and prolongs loading.

Also this means that some texture space and file size is wasted.

To achieve maximum efficiency I’d recommend you to manually rescale your textures to squire power-of-two images.

    Converted all to 1024×1024

Interesting. I could reproduce this by checking memory with the stock Task Manager on win10 – it says that the Chrome browser with the loaded interior scene consumes 2.8 Gb of RAM and the exterior takes about 1.1 Gb.

The isolated Verge3D project (link) produces similar results so I guess your scene is where the problem lies. Off the top of my head, how many shadow-casting lights you got in your scene and how big is your shadow map?

One Spot light with the same settings as the Teapot Heater scene.

If you’d like you can email me a private link to your .blend file so that we can try to investigate this issue further.
