NaxosCGCustomerHello,
Does anybody know how to create a glass sphere (no refraction, i know) using USD shaders within 3dsmax ?I need it to mimic the physical one i got here (see attached).
I need USD for iOS AR stuff.

ParticipantThey don’t look like glass. Nearly zero roughness, ~0.5 metallness, no transparency. Just spheres with the mirror surface. So what’s the problem? USD materials have no these parameters?
Puzzles and JS coding. Fast and expensive.
If you don’t see the meaning in something it primarily means that you just don’t see it but not the absence of the meaning at all.

They look enough like glass for real time purpose. When we turn around we get sort of a refraction effect.
I just whant to get there but with USD shader. The purpose of this thread was to get some help.

ParticipantAnd it was a kind of help ))) Certainly, it’s enough and all you need are
roughness/metalness/color. And I’m sure the USD shader supports those parameters. Thetransmissionparameter is not supported, so you may forget about it if you are planning to use AR in Safari…
