Error loading verge3D plugin for Maya

Hi. I installed verge3d-maya 3.5 (also tried with 3.6) but it appears the following error when loading the plugin:

// Error: file: /Applications/Autodesk/maya2020/Maya.app/Contents/scripts/others/pluginWin.mel line 317: (verge3d)

Also when trying to use any option of verge3D, Maya crashes. Even when going to Export settings.

Using Maya 2020.2
MacBookPro 10.14.16 Mojave
Verge3D folder was unzipped at User/Documents
