    Hello everyone,
I just landed (mentally) after attending the Blender Conference 2019. Again an overwhelmingly wonderful experience.
One thing missing was Yuri presenting Verge3D and all its fantastic new developments. Not only that, there was nothing whatsoever on WebGL which is a shame because WebGL is in full flight.
Luckily the possibility to give 5 minutes “Lightning Talks” still existed so I decided to take this opportunity to get Blender users to dive into WebGL and use Verge3D to ease the process. Here is a timestamp link to my little talk.
I chose to use the Card Deck Theatre because I think with all the new interest in Grease Pencil and 2D animation in Blender, the 2D characters and their message would trigger more attention. There was too little time to also show my recent application Faun da Gamba.
I had to show a screen-cast so due to that and some compression, sound was a bit out of sync and there is some banding of the background. Due to nerves I also forgot to say some important things but luckily after the talks I was approached by a number of Blender users with lots of questions.
I noticed that the “fear” of having to write code is blocking a lot of Blender users from diving into WebGL. In one of the conference spaces, I could show them on my laptop how they can start using Verge3D to ease the road to WebGL which was received with enthusiasm.
One of the attendance even immediately downloaded and installed it because he was looking for a good solution to show his models in his website for a while.
That is just what I hoped for.
