Philip FongCustomerWell, I have waited 10 years for the technology to mature, currently, I am using a primitive game engine that can do all I need except the render quality, below are the essential features for my “one of a kind product” in development, 1st issue coming soon and I also plan to teach the advertising agencies to adopt the software.
Here is What I need:
1. Sprite animation.
2. Billboard (point at camera).
3. load and play external png images in sequence (loop & timer).
4. Alpha add material (fire, sparkle..).
5. Animated transparency.
6. URL to next scene (story telling / customer’s website).3D product demo is too far fetched (not enough client), 3D for advertising is more feasible because 360 video is restricted to real scene, 3D web is the new stuff for content marketing where creativity is endless.
I hope it is not too difficult to achieve, just priority since you are the maker of Blend4web.

Yuri KovelenovStaffHey Philip, thanks for your feedback. From your list, the billboards are already available via ‘track to’ and ‘locked track’ constraints. Alpha Add materials also work. Transparency can be animated with Value node in node materials. Sprite animation can be done with some coding. We only need to implement page redirect feature from what is left – added that to our TODO list! :)

Philip FongCustomerI am having alpha blending issue with the leaves, tried all the alpha type.
If the material has alpha texture, the animated transparency won’t work.

Philip FongCustomerI can’t reproduce the transparent animation like your sample, I realized my transparency panel has grey-out.

Philip FongCustomerSolved the grey-out transparency, tick the check box before adding material.
I also need alpha texture shadow…

Philip FongCustomerOne and a half year later, I can’t get alpha transparency to animate, tried 2.79b and also 2.8, any idea how it should work?

Philip FongCustomerI got it!, had to hook the value driver to both transparent BDSF & the Fac in mix shader.
