mastajappaCustomerHi guys,
I am curious about the roadmap for the development of verge3d. I feel that the software has amazing potential and is maturing very well. Keep up the great work!
However I find that on the graphics side the tool is seriously lacking options to make the renders pop more and make them less plastic and more appealling.
I am aware that graphics are eating performance but when I compare to the options available at sketchfab for years now I don’t see the problem to take those improvements seriously.
There is a lot to gain and you will get a huge market for it. The things that are missing are;

Decent Ambient Occlussion (The current one is a serious FPS killer)

Better color management

LUT support

Higher Quality Bloom

Higher Quality Depth of Field

Subsurface Scattering

Graphics Optimization

Grain
2021-06-29 at 10:13 pm #42426
JohnsonCustomer+1 for this– I’d really love to bring these effects to the web apps and mobile apps my agency creates w/ Verge3D. This is one of the best solutions I’ve used in years. Keep up the great work!

xeonCustomerVerge is great for sure and is heading in a good direction. Higher quality graphics is a limitation with Verge3d at the moment if comparing to what you can do in many alternative solutions. Verge3D is a tool. One of many that we as graphics artists have in our toolbox. Depending on projects I have to weigh using other tools against Verge3D and then decide what is the best option. It would be great if Verge3D had the best quality then I wouldnt have to choose.

Customer+1 on the ambient occlusion and color management.
we currently bake all AO, as the postAO is not good enough in quality.
but, more importantly, we usually use the filmic + high contrast color profile in blender.
currently, we have to fall back to standard, which bleeds and clips quite heavily. so that would be a huge improvement.2021-08-04 at 11:02 am #43448
