I have just tried publishing the AR template to both IOS and Android. Looks great on Android but for some reason the little Farmer doesn’t animate on IOS. Is this feature unavailable on IOS or do I need to a do something to the project to enable it?

(Forgot to mention the project has to be viewed through a browser on android and IOS as I am looking to make a specific application for a client)

    Overall though love the software!

    Hi,

on iOS, WebXR is still unavailable, so at the moment, AR content can only be rendered using Apple’s USDZ viewer. Unfortunately, Verge3D (as well as Three.js which it is based on) does not support animation for USDZ models yet.

As a workaround, you might create USDZ scenes using your 3D modeling suite and load them directly. You can do it by providing the path to the .usdz file in the AR puzzles group.

    Hi Yuri

Many thanks for the reply. I have tried linking to the .usdz file directly (I am assuming the file needs to be in the same directory as the project) but on ios it says ‘object could not be opened’. I am using the AR template so is there something else I need to do to it such as deleting any existing objects in the max scene or removing references to objects in the puzzles?

I have attached a screen shot of how I referenced the .usdz file.

Sorry for my ignorance but just trying to get my head around how this all works..

    Kind regards

    Nick

it is important that you copy the .usdz file into the app folder, so that you can use relative path to it. Right now it uses absolute path to the file.

It is already in the app folder so I just need to use the file name as opposed to the full path right?

    yes, something like your_file_name.usdz
