  • in reply to: No shadows in the scene on mac os #3349

I’m running into a similar problem, though specifically, when I have a texture on a floor material, the shadows don’t render. I started with a scene with two lamps, some objects, and a floor, with two spotlights. I get two shadows. If I add a texture to the floor material, I only get one shadow, and it isn’t in the right location. If I put two textures (diffuse and normal in this instance), I get no shadows. I know there are limits to textures on a surface and shadow maps count toward that total, but I thought it was higher than two. If it helps, I’m also on a Mac.

Can you share with us a lend file with different situations where two one and more lights cast/do-not-cast shadows?

Yes it’s almost the same, but not all of the standart material settings supported. To get full acess to all posibilities of the engine use material nodes. Also to get the same result in the blender viewport and the engen follow the scene setup instructions from the second youtube tutorial from the verge3d for blender playlist.

Hi and welcome to our forum. It will depend on what you want to achieve with your materials. Pbr workflow have some limitation but more closer to cycles, it the same as if you would use principlied node. But GLSL node gives you more control of the material effect and allow you to create more complex and dynamic materials. For GLSL and PBR workflow tutorials check our youtube chanel.

    a glass on a watch

Is it so critique to have a refraction on wathch glass for you? It will cause a weak effect of refraction on such small distance from the mesh.

in reply to: Glass material #3302

My point of view. Refract is a a solid glass with mirror effect, and it’s not transparency. I can use a cube map, but it’s more true if it’s transparency with distortion “x 2” of object’s of behind. Yes like my picture !

Unfortunately it’s not in our plan for now to make a real-time refraction. What you try to implement may be it can be made using another techniques?

Have you a solution for express the glass. I don’t know the solution to make transparency. It isn’t necessary to make distortion like REFRACT, for me it is too much. Just more or less transparency. Option : The ideal will be a distortion with scale. .

Hi, Vincent. Is it necessery to refract what exectly above the glass or you can use a refraction of cubemap? Or you wnt to create a refraction of magnifier like in your example?

in reply to: 3DSM Click to Play Animation and Stop #3118

How can I make it so one click will trigger half of the object’s animation (opening), and another click will trigger the remaining half (closing)?

It can be made by Play Animation node from ne frame to another and then play the same frames but set it to reverse. To avoid looping you need to set a loop mode for each object to Once. You can find it in object’s preferences in Verge3D tab.

Additionally, is it possible to trigger a text pop-up that also appears when the object is first clicked, and then disappears when clicked a second time?

Yes, you can use Set Annotation/Remove annotation block with combination of Variable with boolin information and IF operand. For example create Clicked=0 then On Click block will check with If operand is Clicked=0 if it’s True then Show annotation and write to Clicked=1 if it is =1 then Hide block and write to Clicked=0.

Can you also make screenshot of this console?

And discribe in details how you append and apply materials and maybe attach a blend file with not working matterial with packed textures.

    Here some screenshots.
As I mentioned alu, leather, etc. work fine, however some don’t.

Am I doing something wrong? Should I do more than just appending and applying the shaders? UV or so?

Does this not work only in Blender or after export too? Can you attach a screenshots of browser console and Blender console?

Yes it does with a modifier.

Have you set Bake Modifyiers in the scene settings?

in reply to: The sun and shadows #3045

Yes, there is a material and texture, a image, where do I see shade or no shade? the settings are few, Backface culling? what is it?

All materials has cast shadow on by default, you can see it in the Shadow parameters in material preferences. Does this model has thikness?

in reply to: The sun and shadows #3043

Trouble for make shadows, a object don’t have it, but behind him there is a objet who catch it, strange. I use simple sun, what is the good set-up ? May be it’s a problem with Blender only, I see nothing in Blender with Verge3d. Thank you for you help.

Can you attache an example with this two object? Also check is there any material on object that do not cast shadow, try to add it. If it will not help sen us the example.
